Remote from the rest of the country on the south west coast, Perth offers visitors a chance to experience an entirely different kind of Australian holiday than they would get in Queensland.

Its location on the Swan River is close to the laid back coastal resort of Fremantle, and the unspoilt island of Rottnest. Perth offers a quirky yet thoroughly modern character that is most rewarding to visitors. Often used as a gateway to Western Australia, Perth has plenty to see and do within driving distance, and is a great base for touring the region.

Within a short drive of the city, you can lie back on unspoilt beaches, walk through pristine countryside, and even sylph through vineyards to find freshly made wines. Further away, you can swim with dolphins at Monkey Mia, check out the famous Pinnacles in the Nambung National Park, or even wander through the famous Karri Forest.

There are great hotels to stay at, top quality galleries to explore, and a nightlife that is in equal parts laid back decadence, beach-bum glamour, and hedonistic laziness. In short Perth is as Eclectic and wonderful as the rest of Australia, and a splendid place to visit.
