Day 1: Hobart

Collect your car from the airport, and head to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit some of Hobart's many attractions - we suggest the Apple Museum and the Tahune Wildlife Park, before seeing the real wildlife on a night out in the city!

Day 2: Hobart - Strahan

Distance: 150 Miles
Travel to Strahan on the Macquarie harbour where you can enjoy a cruise on the magnificent Gordon River - a World Heritage site before a night sampling the famous Tasmanian Lagers.

Day 3: Strahan - Cradle Mountain

Distance: 60 miles
When you feel up to it, make the short drive to Cradle Mountain area where there is plenty of natural beauty to soak up. Why not paint a picture of it, or at least take a photograph, before heading for the hotel bar for an evening of gentle socialising.

Day 4: Cradle Mountain - Launceston

Distance: 120 Miles
After you leave the hotel, make the drive to Launceston where there are plenty of shops and a couple of galleries where you might be able to sell the picture you painted the previous day. Use the proceeds from the sale to enjoy a night out in one of Launceston's quaint bars, where many wines from the mainland Barossa Valley region are available.

Day 5: Launceston - Freycinet National Park

Distance: 110 miles
Freycinet Park offers beautiful scenery and some unique wildlife. After spending time exploring, why not find a bar with a view out over Cole's Bay, and enjoy a few drinks as the sun sets behind you.

Day 6: Freycinet National Park - Port Arthur

Distance: 130 miles
Port Arthur is famously one of the oldest cities in Australia, and was one of the original penal colonies. Today the town has a large artistic community, and a lively local nightlife, which you may wish to experience on the last night of your tour.

Day 7: Port Arthur - Hobart

Distance: 60 miles
Why not have a lie in today before saddling up and heading back to Hobart. Drop off your car early to avoid paying a penalty and then either catch a plane to the next destination in your Australian adventure, or better still, check out the many harbour front bars in this exciting town and tell tales of your exploits touring the island.
