Capital of the state of Queensland, and the main gateway to the tropical Gold Coast of Australia, Brisbane is a fabulously exciting and beautiful city that is tailor made as the starting point for a holiday exploring the most tourist friendly part of this huge country.
With attractions close by both natural, in the form of beautiful beaches and coastal resorts like the aptly named Surfers Paradise, and man made, such as the many Gold Coast theme parks like Wet 'n' Wild and Sea World, there is plenty more to any Queensland holiday than just lying on the golden sand and topping up your tan.
Take time out to explore the beautiful scenery inland from the coast, and you will discover a wildly varying landscape of lush tropical jungle in the famous Lamington National Park where you can trek through the rainforest to the soundtrack of wild birds singing in the trees.
Just offshore, Moreton Island has a dolphin sanctuary which is one of the few places in the world where you can swim with dolphins and get to see these beautiful animals in their natural habitat, while at Sea World you can see them perform for your entertainment.
