Capital of South Australia, and third largest city in the country, Adelaide is famously one of the most pleasant and attractive cities in Australia. It may lack the glamorous calendar of events that Melbourne can boast, and certainly lacks the reputation of Sydney as being the cultural heart of the country, but what Adelaide offers to visitors is the chance to appreciate the time you spend exploring, and is a rewarding and genuinely fantastic place to visit for an authentic taste of life down under.

Adelaide is famous for many different things: the swathes of beautiful parkland that surround the central area; its location at the end of the great coastal highway to Melbourne and at the start of the legendary Ghan train journey to Darwin; but most importantly, Adelaide is the centre of a truly world class wine region centred on the Barossa Valley.

Simple to navigate around, and yet easy to lose yourself in, Adelaide is perhaps the best planned city that you will ever visit. Everything that you could want to experience there is easy to walk to, and you can easily find yourself soaking up high culture in a museum, or alternatively get baser pleasures in a nightclub.

On the sunny shores of the Gulf of Saint Vincent, within a short distance of the city centre, there are plenty of good quality sandy beaches to sunbathe when the city gets too hot in the summer, while in the winter, Adelaide offers you the chance to go skiing in the Mount Lofty Mountain Range.
